Found the unit to be more than adequate for the purpose of my stay. Did a lot of day trips, South to Black Sand Beach, Hot ponds and the beautiful countryside. Made a quick trip over to the Kona side and found it to be quit hot, I stayed May 12 through May 20th.
If you like Japanese food you must try Miyo's, family owned and operated and very authentic and delicious and if you want you can take your own beer or wine, you just need to take all your empties back home with you, and very convenient to the Condo.
For the price and location the Condo can't be beat.

March 7th to March 24th. It is an excellent unit to stay at considering the price that you are paying for. There is an excellent supply of hot water for the shower and a very clean, spacious bathroom. High quality stove, fridge, rice cooker, microwave, toaster, pots and pans. Clean interior... The exterior and hallway of the building is a typical Hawaii open to the outdoor directly type design.

The air conditioner unit does have the one requirement of dumping the water collection container daily which is a simply task to do (its well labeled). It and the ceiling fan does a good job in keeping the place cool. Finding any unit in this price range that includes air conditioning is a bonus for the HILO area.

The “internet bridge” worked well with the provided LAN cable and the speed was a good high speed connection. If you first have issues in getting online with this unit, unplug it and plug it back in.

Noise from the locals is not a problem. It was very quiet at night as some of the buildings tenants are businesses which are closed after hours. Past internet articles of a noisy nearby karaoke are not true anymore with the dates we stayed as this establishment seems to have been tamed (closed early). Plenty of noted security on site also. All that is heard is the coqui frogs, bull frogs and the occasionally duck quack from the nearby park. You do get an occasionally feather friend walking by the front of the lanai. They seem to love popcorn.

Condo was clean. It was a plain unit, which was plenty adequate for me. Dealing with the A/C water was trivial. Location was fine (close to Hwy 11). Having a cooler, ironing board, & iron was a nice touch. Internet service would have been nice, and it sounds like it's coming soon. Would recommend to someone who doesn't need to stay on the beach, wants to be in the Hilo area, and is cost conscious.

Condo was clean and a good value. The only negative was the air conditioner water needed to be emptied daily or it stopped working. Overall a good value

Daryl was very helpful and worked with us a lot. He graciously answered all our questions and accommodated our changing departure dates. Enjoyed the big counter space in the bathroom where I could plop down all my stuff after a long days work. Great value in the middle of town. Enjoyed dinning behind the apt at Milo's Japanese restaurant. Thanks again.

The condo was really great!! Very self contained.Comfortable, quiet, well located, reasonably priced. The owners are very nice and very accommodating. I would not hesitate to book there again and am seriously thinking of doing so soon.

we love these Hilo bay condos. What a perfect location. Close to everything, but quiet. Real exposure to the local way of life.
The condo was immaculate and fresh and airy.
We are already booked again in 6 months.
The affordability allows us to spend our money on sight seeing and enjoying the local entertainment and food.
Great value and totally enjoyable.
